An audit of the non-financial impact of an organization on society. For example, an environmental audit is one kind of social audit. Other aspects may be of interest to other stakeholder groups, such as customers, employees, and the wider community. The object is to enable a firm to assess its performance in relation to society. See also social responsibility reporting
